Tempest and the Twilight Company are now respected venturers. The stumble across several invasions of Rathos: the tentacled Daeklor; Tharakhi’s old demon master and his infernal legions; and Snikki’s goblin people and their spider-like goddess, the Widow of the Tombs.

Each force desires Rathos’s magical power—and like a hungry ogre, they don’t share.

Calling upon allies new and old, Tempest hones his skills and prepares a skyship to fend off the invaders—but each force exhibits abilities he and his friends can’t counter.
